Our Gym

Grind House Training Facility is a gym in Boerne, TX that offers everything you could need to guide you through your fitness journey. From equipment to classes to veteran trainers, Grind House Training facility is the premiere fitness center not just in Boerne, but all of the Northwest San Antonio area.

 

What We Offer

We offer many different classes for all levels of fitness. Our programs include boot camp, strike fit, boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA, spin, and more. And our personal trainers are available to put together customized workout programs to help you meet your individual goals. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey, an amateur or professional athlete, or someone looking to become a pro fighter, we have the equipment, programming, and experience to help you.

WHO WE ARE

MEET OUR TEAM

Jason Correia, Head MMA and Fight Team Trainer, started training in martial arts as a child and continued as an adult, earning his 2nd degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. He trained with several Masters in San Antonio, TX, and Miami, FL, giving him exposure to multiple fighting styles. Jason taught Taekwondo adult sparring classes and Tiny Tigers children’s classes for eight years. As head instructor for the Demo Team, he showcased weapons, board breaking, and sparring techniques throughout San Antonio & the Texas Hill Country.

Jason trained in MMA for four years. He earned a spot on the fight team where he went undefeated. In 2011, Jason trained with UFC veteran Forest Griffin in grappling and Muay Thai.

Jason continued his training in numerous self-defense course techniques for women, children, and weapons. Additionally he worked as a personal trainer at Texas Fitness Center, specializing in strength training and conditioning.

Jason’s experience includes the following:

  • 30 years experience in martial arts
  • 2nd degree black belt
  • 8 years training in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
  • Trained in all forms of self defense
  • Head instructor for the Grind House MMA Fight Team
  • Professional fight trainer/management
  • 15 years teaching experience

Greta Rodkey, RN, BSN, CPT, earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing with honors from Kent State University. She spent more than 10 years working in emergency departments throughout the country, earning certifications in Emergency Room Nursing (CEN) and Mobile Intensive Care Nursing (MICN).  She is also a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC).

Greta has participated in many different types of fitness training.  She has trained with multi-sport coaches and personal trainers, competing in various running events, triathlons, multi-sport events and obstacle races before discovering her passion for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).  She is a member of the Grind House Fight Team.

Greta is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, earning certifications as a NASM Certified MMA Conditioning Specialist (MMACS), NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist (FNS) and a NASM Weight Loss Specialist (WLS).  She is also a Certified StrikeFit instructor. Greta is eager to help others achieve life-long health and fitness and inspire others to pursue their passion for Mixed Martial Arts.

Jonathan Cernosek, CPT, has been a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer for over 8 years and a trainer for over 10 years. He has a background in semi-pro football, MMA training, training professional athletes for both football and wrestling and protection services. 

Jonathan specializes in functional training, body rehabilitation, metabolic training, strength specific training, sports specific training, structural phase training and aquatic training. He also runs an elk pre- hunting seasonal Alpha Program getting clients ready for the hunt of their life!

Personal statement: “I believe that anyone – I mean anyone – can overcome any obstacle, may it be physical, mental or any life-altering circumstance that’s before them. God knows we deal with so much in the world we live today. My own life has been a challenge and constant growth.  I’ve dealt with injuries that should have crippled me for life and a loss of a family, both being restored by believing.  I could have either given in to my circumstances and accept a life with self-pity and regret or take a stand and fight back to become the person I was meant to be.  A person who believed anything is possible and nothing could hold me back from reaching my dreams.  So I invite you to make that choice. To believe you can change your life for the better knowing there’s nothing you cannot achieve.  If you are willing to become that person, I challenge you to take this journey.  It will be the best decision you ever made – I promise.  I would be honored to help and show you the true passion behind what I do.”

Taylor Torisk, Graduated 2009 from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, CO with B.S. in Kinesiology and Sports Management. He attended on dual academic and athletic scholarships.  In 2007 and 2008, he was a regional finalist in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference for wrestling (R.M.A.C). Taylor was the Texas High School State Champion in 2006 and state runner-up in 2005.  He is now a Certified Personal Trainer, Independent Advocare Advisor and will graduate as a Registered Iyengar Yoga teacher in May 2018.

Taylor specializes in wrestling, strength training, yoga, sports performance, weight loss, nutrition, injury rehabilitation, wellness and energy.

His philosophy is:

His mission for his clients is to help them grow, support and maintain lean muscle.  He strongly believes in helping you to identify the mental, physical and spiritual sheaths in order to establish a connection with one’s self.
